Opening sequences

 This is one example of an opening sequence in the Corpse Bride. It gives an insight to the time period, setting a main characters of the scene. It also portrays the characters attitudes by the way they interact with the butterfly in order to show the audience which are the good and bad characters without revealing any of the storyline. Sadly this clip uses different music to that originally used in the opening sequence, but the music used originally at first creates a slow and whimsical atmosphere which later becomes a little faster in tempo and gives off and old fashioned theme. The original music is included below the clip in order to demonstrate the points I noted on it. The colour theme of this opening sequence is monochrome with little bursts of colour such as on the butterfly to draw our attention to it.
